Big, rugged, rapidly deployed structures
Minimal setup, maximum uptime
Engineered for repeated use
Ready for the next site
Toro’s container-mounted shelters are built for organisations that need big, rugged, rapidly deployed structures. Packed into ISO shipping containers, they ship efficiently worldwide and install fast with minimal ground preparation.
Built for Mining Operations
Our shelters are designed to handle the extreme demands of mining sites:
UV-stabilised composite membranes provide exceptional strength while transmitting natural light. They stand up to intense sun, wind, snow, and chemical exposure—ideal for remote and harsh mining environments.
Proven Globally in Marine & Industrial Settings
With high-grade galvanised steel frames and clear-span interiors, Toro shelters also excel in ports, shipyards, and large industrial operations. No internal columns mean uninterrupted workflow for heavy equipment and high-throughput tasks.
Our design team is here to help you optimise your site footprint and identify the right container mounted shelter configuration for your operational needs. Whether you’re planning covered workspace, equipment protection, temporary storage, or a rapidly deployable canopy system, we’ll guide you toward the most efficient and effective solution for your site.
With extensive experience delivering container-mounted structures, Toro adapts proven, high-strength shelter formats to suit each client’s operational environment. By using standard shipping containers as the structural base, we create elevated, stable, and versatile systems that perform reliably in demanding industrial, construction, and logistics settings.
The container-mounted shelter configurations shown below represent some of the most widely used profiles in the industry. Each arrangement offers distinct benefits depending on your loading, clearance height, and access requirements. Twin-container systems provide generous open spans and excellent wind stability, while single-sided or offset designs maximise flexibility in restricted or uneven sites.
Explore the layouts below to identify the best container mounted shelter for your operation—or let our team walk you through the options and help configure a solution built around your workflow.
A continuous curved profile naturally distributes loads evenly across the structure, providing exceptional stability and wind performance.
A traditional peaked roof design delivers maximum internal height and efficient rainwater drainage.
A faceted geometric form offers enhanced structural rigidity over large spans, with added efficiency of removing rolled steels.
A clean mono-slope design gives effective water runoff and suits installations where height needs to transition in one direction.
This list is not exhaustive. Other options are also available...
Wide-span sliding doors provide smooth, unobstructed access for vehicles, plant, and personnel, while maintaining reliable weather protection for container-mounted shelters.
Robust roller shutter doors deliver secure, low-maintenance operation with strong resistance to wind and impact, helping safeguard equipment and stored materials within container-mounted shelters.
Energy-efficient LED lighting systems deliver bright, reliable illumination for safer 24/7 operation, reducing maintenance costs and improving visibility inside the shelter.
Eurocode-compliant and engineered for site-specific loads, our shelters offer exceptional height, clearance, and versatility. They’re built to last—and built to move when your project does.
Container Mounted Shelter - Designed and Built to Last
Toro Shelters was appointed to design, manufacture and install a fully equipped mining maintenance facility for heavy mining trucks and loaders operating in the remote Sahara Desert, close to the Senegal–Mali border.
At the time, the mine was a new development with virtually no supporting infrastructure. The location presented significant logistical challenges, with no reliable local supply chain, limited access to construction resources and very little opportunity to source equipment or materials once on site. As a result, the project required a completely self-sufficient approach from design through to installation.
The facility included:
The structure was engineered to withstand the harsh desert environment, including occasional but extreme wind events, high temperatures and abrasive airborne sand.
Toro Shelters coordinated the entire project, managing transportation from our UK facility to the client's operations yard near Matam, Senegal. Our specialist installation teams, including steel erectors and electricians, completed the build and office installation in just three weeks.
Nearly fifteen years later, the facility remains in excellent condition and continues to provide reliable service to the mining operation.
