Salt Storage Facility Now Open

County Council Salt Storage – Oxfordshire

Oxfordshire County Council have opened a new salt storage facility, ready for the future harsh winter weather. The £1million project sees the opening of a new salt storage barn which will ensure that the de-icing salt is kept in the correct conditions. This winter has been pretty average and yet 7,200 tonnes of salt was used. Over the last 10 years there have been some very cold and snowy periods, including last years’ Beast from the East, and de-icing roads is vital.
